Almost Home & Links

Hi again. This is my last night in Rochester and I'm ready for home. Five weeks is a long time to be away from my family, and I'm emotionally fried after more than one hundred healings. I've learned a lot about myself, fallen in love with everybody, and have made some great friends. I'll be posting about my adventures next week after I recover from the 29 hour trip, and 24 hour flight – does anyone want to sponsor me to travel first class? How about a clothing company sponsor so I look sharp?

Until next week here are some links that I've been remiss about posting:

How Can We help Native & Indigenous People Heal – CWWS (conversations with spirit and Simon) episode. This has been a popular video post, and is one of my favourites.
How to Make Sense of Signs From Nature- CWWS episode. I'm in the snow!

And something I'm excited about, a guest post on Heal My PTSDWorking With Energy, Part 1 This is something I'm passionate about: energy healing is an effective treatment for PTSD, depression, and recovering from addiction.

Talk soon, Simon

I haven't forgotten everyone!

Hi friends and family,

I'm in Oneonta NY finishing up some healing. I'm beat guys, my schedule has been hectic, so I haven't posted anything this week. I'm flying home Monday and I hope, if the plane has wifi, to post something on the flight home. Until then I'm thinking about you all, and I'm grateful that you've visited.

Love, Simon

Online Friends & Writers Series – Marvin D Wilson

Online Friends & Writers Series – Marvin D Wilson
Today I have the pleasure of hosting Marvin Wilson. Frankly, he intrigues me, he has a generous heart, and is an old-school gentleman. This is what you'll find on his bio: I am an old Hippie rock and roller, a non-religious, dogma free, Maverick spiritualist Christian. I am an author, with the audacity to write novels. My friends, he's more than that, and his new book looks sensational – it's on my to be read list :)
Tena koe, Marvin. E nga iwi o te ao katoa. Haere mai, haere mai, haere mai — to the people of the whole world. Welcome, welcome, welcome.
Tell us why you love writing, and sell your book/yourself to us.
I hate writing. I only do it for all the money it makes me. Well, that and all the women. What with all the fame and fortune, the sex is righteous good. All seriousness aside, my books ... you probably wouldn’t like them at all. They are merely platforms on which to deliver non-preachy spiritual and inspirational messages, having plots laced with suspense, intrigue, romance, twists and turns, stories told in a bold and direct style of real-world, tell-it-like-it-is candor, the whole shebang weaved together into a colourful, velvet tapestry of a tall tale. So really—I just can’t ‘sell’ me or my books. I’m a course and vulgar cad, and the books are just fictitious tripe. Besides, as you can see, I have no sense of humour at all.
If you could travel back in time and talk to yourself, what age would you be and what would you say?
I’d go back to when I was a sperm. You see, I always wanted to have a twin, and, well ... poor Melvin, he didn’t make it in the Big Race. But it wasn’t his fault he couldn’t keep up. After all, back in the cervix I was Semen First Class!
Okay, I stole that last line from Jim Carrey in Liar, Liar! For real, though, I would like to talk to the man I was when I fell into deep depression over a marriage on the rocks and a business failure that led to bankruptcy. I went down a self-pitying, shortcut-to-dead-end pleasure-seeking path of alcohol abuse and deadly narcotics addiction. It nearly killed me, ruined me beyond anything I’d thought possible in my life. I’d ask that man to buck up, man up, and rectify his life the long, rough, hard, but right way. If it were not for family coming to my rescue and the Grace of God—I had a powerful spiritual experience, where I met the Christ—I’d surely no longer be here on this plane of existence. I wrote about this in my first book, I Romanced the Stone (Memoirs of a Recovering Hippie)
If you had the opportunity to talk to high school students, what would you talk about and why?
I would encourage them to develop a passion for reading, for absorbing knowledge, to make sure they understand basic math, geometry, and building techniques. And also to learn the mature art of ‘delayed gratification’. This generation is growing up so addicted to high-speed, sensationalism-oriented entertainment and cyber-fed-shortcut information that I fear the ability to ‘be still and know that I am God’ is atrophying to the point of next to impossible. If the internet ever crashes—and don’t think for one second that is not only a distinct possibility, but rather a high probability, the odds of which increase every day as the global community marches inexorably toward a worldwide conflict of Biblical Apocalyptic proportions—then we’ll be cast into dark ages without a clue how to write, do simple math in our heads, or bake an apple pie.
There are moments in my life that I’ll never forget, the images are fixed in my mind and the emotions are vibrant and telling. It’s these moments that define who I am, can you share a defining moment in your life?
Yes. When I first held my firstborn child in my arms—I realized that my life would never be the same, and that I would lay down my own life if need be to protect that precious being. Raising a family—those twenty or so years of parenting—was the greatest extended life experience so far for me. A close second was the serendipitous, wild and free Hippie Days. I’d not trade that decade and a half of being a travelling Rock and Roll musician for anything—except, having the family.
What’s on your bucket list that would surprise your family and friends?
I’d like to learn to fly an airplane. Been saying it for decades, and by now they probably think I’ve given up on the idea, but ... doggone it, I still just gotta do it! Also, I want to go on an African safari—the real thing, with just a few swashbuckler types and a savvy native guide, not some namby-pamby watered down tourist thing. Roughing it into the deep, wild regions of inner Africa. Wow. Oh yeah, and I want to take a month-long boat ride down the Amazon, stopping here and there to camp over with indigenous tribal peoples.
And, because we love them, do you have a ghost/supernatural story to share?
Once, when I was doing formal Zen training under the tutelage of Korean Zen Master Samu Sunim, I had an out-of-body experience. I actually hovered over myself and the meditation room, able to see my body and all the other students sitting there on the mats. I wasn’t frightened, it all seemed so natural. And the vision expanded—my consciousness blew out the walls and ceiling and I could see the whole region outside of the temple. I don’t know how long it lasted, it was a timeless experience, but when the session-ending bell sounded I was instantaneously back in my body, fully alert and awakened.

Simon, This is Your Life - Papua New Guinea!

Presently, I'm in Canada with Evita Ochel from Evolving beings. I've a busy schedule, so until I have some time I thought I'd share some more of my childhood with you. I love you guys. Enjoy.
My family lived in Papua New Guinea for four years. My father was a carpenter and he went to PNG to build a school. I'm not certain how old I was when we went, but I remember starting school there, so I'm guessing I  was two years old. This is an anti aircraft gun from the second world war; there were lots of old wrecks - ships and planes - artillery guns, weapons, and live rounds, from the war, scattered throughout PNG and surrounding islands. I'm the little guy with the tan lines and plumbers crack!
I remember this photo being taken. My dad's friend printed the paper and the advertising on the shirts.
My brother, Richard, my cousin, Darryn, and you know who the cute one is.
My dad hung a dead snake in this tree and my mum got out of the car and almost walked into it. Not funny dad! I'm guessing the old boy slept on the couch that night. The driveway continues and circles back out to the street. One day, for some reason, my brother and I streaked around this driveway. Where do you learn to do those things?
This beautiful couple were our housekeeper and gardner. We were very spoilt and I remember smiling a lot with both of them. They've both visited me in spirit and I'm grateful for the time we spent together.
Talk soon :)
