I
realised some time ago that I write unhelpful reviews. I enjoy a book
or I don't, and often I can't describe why a book is worth reading or
not, but this is what's on my reading list now :).
Prince
of Thieves
by Chuck
Hogan –
Thriller.
The Scorpio Races
by Maggie Stiefvater
@mstiefvater
– YA, fantasy. Maggie is a favourite YA author and this book has
been the best YA book I've read this year. Maggie has also influenced
how I interact online. She's a social media superstar, a writing
mentor and I read what she recommends
Jane Was Here
by Sarah Kernochan @SarahKernochan
– Thriller, paranormal. This book was recommended to me on twitter,
and after following Sarah I ordered it. Twitter works!
County Line by
Bill Cameron
@bcmystery
– Crime, thriller. I read it over three days, which is quick for
me. Some time shifts in this, but they were handled well and I didn't
get confused. Bill is in Janet Reid's
stable and that's the only recommendation I need to read him. I read
what Janet recommends and I've never been disappointed. I've been a
fan of Janet's for a few years now and I consider her to be a writing
mentor.
The Space Between
by Brenna Yovanoff @brennayovanoff
– YA, dark fantasy. Brenna is another of my favourite YA authors, a
writing mentor, and someone I'd like to emulate. I'm looking forward
to reading this book.
Hunted
by Cheryl Rainfield
@CherylRainfield–
YA, dystopian. I've
read this and loved it. The best YA book I've read thus far about
being a telepath and psychic.
Larkstorm
by Dawn Rae Miller
@DawnRaeMiller
– YA, dystopian. I follow Dawn on Twitter and I bought the book
because she has a great online personality.
Divergent
by Veronica Roth
@VeronicaRoth
– YA, dystopian. So many people have talked about this book online
that I had to buy it :).
